Christmas 2014

Today it occurred to me that on Thursday, December 18, it will have been a year since Deborah was hospitalized. It will also be the second Christmas we will not, now never, celebrate with her. On December 18, 2013 Deborah was hospitalized and spent nearly a month in isolation. I remember that day vividly. I just came home from work and I was told that Deborah was taken to the hospital. I initially thought she must have been in an accident of some sort and would be returning shortly. Then I was explained to further that there was no accident.

Christmas 2013 was different. It was the first time we would celebrate without Deb as she was still in hospital. On the 25th we were able to visit her for a little while, course, we were only allowed 2 people to go in at a time.

Now that Christmas is fast approaching again, it's going to be difficult. Last year, we all clung to the hope that we would celebrate with Deborah again the following year, but now, we are facing Christmases to come without her.
