Rescuers and emergency services are at the scene of the accident which happened near Hungary’s Parliament building and the Elisabeth Bridge in the centre of the city. A source said that the boat made contact with another tourist boat in strong winds that caused it to sink, although this has yet to be officially confirmed. Some passengers have been safely rescued from the water.
There were 34 people were onboard the vessel, including two crew, when the accident took place according to the MTI news agency.
Local media reported many of the passengers on board were South Korean tourists.
The vessel, said to be called the Mermaid, sank following the collission.
Photos taken at the scene show emergency crews desperately searching for passengers in the water.
One witness said on social media: "Tragedy. Serious boat accident on the Danube. People are missing."
All shipping through the Hungarian capital has been halted by police.

The Return of the Lord/ 1 Thessalonians 4:13

13Brothers, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who are without hope. 14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, we also believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.…

1 Thessolonians 4:15
By the word of the Lord, we declare to you that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who have fallen asleep. 16For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a loud command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will be the first to rise. 17After that, we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.…

Today at Church

We had a lovely day today at church. The song and worship was beautiful, and lively. Next week there will be a new series of teachings by pastor Sam Owusu. I loved having my daughter and her husband over for lunch afterwards. Very soon there will be a grand-daughter in our world; the first grandchild.

I lost a friend named Eva

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling
I love you Eva Farkas, forever love you
I'm still in shock. Just yesterday, I found out that a dear Hungarian friend of mine has passed 3 years ago. Eventhough, I am acquainted with grief, I still have a hard time believing that Eva is gone. She was only 58 at the time. I found her daughters post on facebook. I am amazed as to what beautiful women her girls have become. I knew them starting from the early 1980's and even lived in her basement after my separation from my first husband who abandoned me. She was a truly kind heart, jubilant, vibrant, always seeking ways to improve her looks, and cooking. I knew her parents and her brothers as well who owned a farm in Abbotsford. I do not know the cause of her passing but do know of some of her deep secrets that only a close friend would. I just want to be supportive to her daughters if I can. I am in shock still. Heaven gained a lovely soul. She is with my daughter Deborah, I hope they dance in the sky together, and wait for me.

Where Does the Carbon Dioxide Really Come From?

Professor Ian Plimer's book in a brief summary:

PLIMER : "Okay, here's the bombshell. The volcanic eruption in Iceland.  Since its first spewing of volcanic ash, it has, in just FOUR DAYS, NEGATED EVERY SINGLE EFFORT you have made in the past five years to control CO2 emissions on our planet - all of you.

Of course, you know about this evil carbon dioxide that we are trying to suppress - it's that vital chemical compound that every plant requires to live and grow and to synthesize into oxygen for us humans and all animal life.

I know....it's very disheartening to realize that all of the carbon emission savings you have accomplished while suffering the inconvenience and expense of driving Prius hybrids, buying fabric grocery bags, sitting up till midnight to finish your kids "The Green Revolution" science project, throwing out all of your non-green cleaning supplies, using only two squares of toilet paper, putting a brick in your toilet tank reservoir, selling your SUV and speedboat, vacationing at home instead of abroad, nearly getting hit every day on your bicycle, replacing all of your 50 cent light bulbs with $10.00 light bulbs.....well, all of those things you have done have all gone down the tubes in just four days!

The volcanic ash emitted into the Earth's atmosphere in just four days - yes, FOUR DAYS - by that volcano in Iceland has totally erased every single effort you have made to reduce the evil beast, carbon. And there are around 200 active volcanoes on the planet spewing out this crud at any one time - EVERY DAY.

I don't really want to rain on your parade too much, but  I should mention that when the volcano Mt Pinatubo erupted in the Philippines in 1991, it spewed out more greenhouse gases into the atmosphere than the entire human race had emitted in all its years on earth.

Yes, folks, Mt Pinatubo was active for over One year - think about it.

Of course, I shouldn't spoil this 'touchy-feely tree-hugging' moment and mention the effect of natural solar and cosmic activity, and the well-recognized 800-year global heating and cooling cycle, which keeps happening despite our completely insignificant efforts to affect climate change.

And I do wish I had a silver lining to this volcanic ash cloud, but the fact of the matter is that the wildfire season across the western USA and Australia this year alone will negate your efforts to reduce carbon in our world for the next two to three years. And it happens every year.

Just remember that your government just tried to impose a whopping carbon tax on you, on the basis of the BOGUS 'human-caused' climate-change scenario.

Hey, isn't it interesting how they don't mention 'Global Warming' anymore, but just 'Climate Change.

It's because the planet has COOLED by 0.7 degrees in the past century and these global warming advocates got caught with their pants down.

And, just keep in mind that you might yet have an Emissions Trading Scheme - that whopping new tax - imposed on you by your government, that will achieve absolutely nothing except make you poorer.

It won't stop any volcanoes from erupting, that's for sure.

But, hey, .....go give the world a hug and have a nice day

My Long Weekend at the Quay

I woke up today to a cooler morning. The birds are chirping. Thankfully, the early fires were dwarfed by some rain last week. Hopefully, this season will be less severe for the forests and wildlife, and the dear firemen who protect us daily.
I made myself an avocado sandwich with chives and tomatoes. The avocado's are perfectly ripe, and I'm the only one eating them unless I make it obvious to my husband that he should have a sandwich. At a local restaurant, one can exchange anything on their breakfast plate for an avocado. For instance, you can have an avocado instead of hash browns. I only learned this from a seasoned restaurant visitor who is my senior.
Yesterday, we went to the Quay Side in New Westminister per my husbands recommendation. It is after all the May long weekend.. Queen Victoria?? So we basically crossed the bridge on which Deborah took her life, and walked by the Fraser River in which we found her body. Upon noticing my obvious sick mood, I told him that this is not a joyous outing for me. Had it not been for a senior lady on her bicycle who I conversed with for about 20 minutes, it would have been almost unbearable. This woman with a long grey braid, goes canoeing with her rifle almost a entire month by herself each year. She appears to embrace actively her old age, and was not boring to listen to. In a short time since she knew all about guns, my husband also started asking her a bunch of questions. Her husband is in a shooting competition this weekend in Mission, B.C but she could not handle three days of it, so I found her on the dyke.
Today, my laundry awaits. What are you engaged in?

After the horrific Thanagazi rape case, yet another heinous incident came into limelight where a minor girl was allegedly gang raped by three boys on May 14. The girl along with her mother has threatened to commit suicide if no action is taken against the accused. As per the complainant, the girl, who was at her maternal uncle's home in Alwar's Bansoor area had gone out to relieve herself. The three accused pounced upon her, took her to a nearby school and gang raped her. The girl claimed that the three fled from there on a bike after the incident.
One of the accused was allegedly lynched to death afterwards and the other two were later nabbed by the police.
After filing the FIR, the girl has given her statement under Section 164 in the Court.
"No, I do not know them. I was brought home by my mother and my maternal aunt. Yes, punishment must be given. If punishment is not given, then I will commit suicide. All I want is they should be punished", the minor girl said to India Today.
"As I stood up after relieving myself, three boys came from behind and dropped handkerchief on my face. As I shouted, my mother and my maternal aunt came over there. Seeing them coming, the trio ran away from there on a bike. My mother and maternal aunt then brought me home", the girl earlier mentioned.
The police has claimed that one of the minor accused was nabbed and beaten up after which he passed away. The body of the dead accused was found around 12 kms away from the place of the alleged gang rape.
"One of the boys was caught and he was beaten up as well, he has died as well and the two boys, they had run away as well, we have nabbed them after investigation...", Ramji Lal, Investigating Officer, mentioned.
The complainant's mother, while speaking with India Today, demanded that strictest punishment should be meted out to the accused so that no one does it.
The police has registered separate cases, of gang rape and murder, and is investigating both of them.

  • A JNU student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in the common area of the university's library
  • The student sent sent a suicide note in email to his English professor
  • As per preliminary enquiry, no foul play is suspected
A Jawaharlal Nehru University student allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in the common area of the university's School of Language library on Friday.
The police was informed about the incident at around 12 pm after an English professor called them to inform he has received a suicide note in his e-mail. Rishi Thomas, who stayed in Mahi Mandvi boys hostel, sent the email to his professor just before hanging himself.
The MA second year student of JNU was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead, a senior police officer said.
"Police reached at the varsity's School of Languages after contacting the caller, the in-charge of Mahi Mandvi hostel," said Devender Arya, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South West.
The officer said they found that one room in the basement of the library building was locked from inside and there was no response on knocking the door.
"From the window, we could see a body hanging from the ceiling fan. The door was forcibly opened and the body was taken down by cutting the cable," he said.
He said a police crime team visited the spot and necessary investigation was done.
The body has been taken to the Safdarjung Hospital, he said, adding the deceased student's relatives have been informed and his cousin Mathew Vargese has reached the university.
"The deceased was undergoing some treatment, as per preliminary enquiry. A suicide note was mailed by him to an English professor. As per preliminary enquiry, no foul play is suspected. Further investigation is in progress," the DCP said.
In a statement, the Jawaharlal Nehru University expressed its "deep condolences at the untimely demise of an MA student in one of the academic buildings of the university".
"His parents have been informed about the unfortunate incident," it said.

Suicide rates are rising among young girls

Suicide rates are rising among young girls, study finds

“It’s not just numbers. We’re seeing a trend. But we don’t have good information about what is driving this shift.”
Suicide is still a leading cause of death among teenagers, but the researchers found a disproportionate increase in the number of suicides by younger girls from the ages of 10 to 14.
“We can’t think it’s just a male problem,” said study author Donna Ruch, a researcher at Nationwide Children’s Center for Suicide Prevention and Research.
Ruch and her colleagues analyzed national data on suicides from 1975 to 2016 among children and teens 10 to 19. Suicide rates fell during the 1990s, but started to climb in 2007, according to the study published Friday in JAMA Network Open. Rates increased among both boys and girls, but more so for girls.
We can’t think it’s just a male problem.
“It’s not just numbers. We’re seeing a trend,” Ruch told NBC News. “But we don’t have good information about what is driving this shift.”
Outside experts suggest part of the reason rates started increasing in 2007 was because of better surveillance and reporting. The CDC’s National Violent Death Reporting System began collecting information on violent deaths, including suicides, from six states in 2002. Other states were gradually added, with data collection rising to all 50 states just last year.
“We’re also treating youth depression less aggressively than we were back in the 1990s,” said Julie Cerel, a psychologist at the University of Kentucky and former president of the American Association of Suicidology.
In 2004, the FDA added a black box warning to antidepressants, indicating the drugs are associated with an increased risk for suicidal thoughts in young people. Cerel said that deterred some parents and doctors from giving the medications to teenagers.
Experts agree more research is needed. “We’re all trying to figure out what we’re missing and how to do a better job at keeping these kids alive,” Cerel said.
“Is it bullying? Social media? Specific entertainment shows? With suicide it’s never just one cause,” Cerel added. “But at the same time, it’s hard to figure out how each of those areas play into the pain teenagers are feeling.”
While news of suicides can be upsetting for parents, child psychologists stress that it’s crucial parents talk to their children about it, rather than ignore the trend.
“Have frank conversations about suicide and hopelessness and pain,” Cerel said. “Be able to ask your kids and your kids’ friends: ‘Are you hopeless? Are you thinking of killing yourself?’”
And the earlier parents can open up the lines of communication with their children, the better, according to Cerel. “Kids with thoughts of suicide have said, ‘I first felt like this when I was in preschool,’” she said.
She recommends age-appropriate ways of talking with kids about expressing their feelings.
“Make it a normal conversation very early on, kind of like talking to little kids about stranger danger and inappropriate touching,” Cerel told NBC News.
Ruch agrees. “We need to be able to have intelligent conversations about this with our kids,” she said.
“This could be happening at a much younger age than parents think.”
Some of the typical warning signs for suicidal thoughts and suicide are:
  • a child or teenager who says they think about killing themselves
  • a child or teenager who is unhappy for an unusually extended period of time
  • a child or teenager who withdraws from friends, school or social activities
  • a child or teenager who is increasingly irritable or aggressive
Parents can find additional resources through a children's mental health program at Nationwide Children's Hospital called On Our Sleeves.
This story discusses suicide. If you or someone you know is at risk of suicide, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-8255 or text HOME to 741741.

The Rise and Fall of Western Culture | Paul Joseph Watson and Stefan Mol...

A Hysterical Cult Runs Society

A big Dilema

Greetings to all my readers! It has been a busy month of May, with baby shower, for my future grand-daughter, Mother's Day, and lots of spring clean up. It could also be this month that my little grand-daughter will enter the world. I have to think on how I want to be called as well, since there is another grandma in town. Health has been turbulant both in my life and that of my husbands. We are both in the midst of dental work, and even today, bought soft humus, and tofu along side the yogurt and keifer milk to keep us going.
Today my hands hurt, as we pressure washed the sidewalks and areas of the house that we could reach. I have to finish another day when I can get some help. A six horse power pressure washer is just what we needed. Now the sun is out, and the grass is beckoning us to trim it once again. Should we sell our family home where we have such wonderful memories of Deborah, and our family or should be just press on and keep it as long as we can? This is a hard decision. I don't know the answer. If the answer was to downsize, I don't believe we would have the physical means to do so. That makes us stay in a pickle.. also we would loose our rental revenue. As Tiger the cat sits by my feet, I am pondering if we ever come to the right decision after being in this home for over 12 years. Twelve of the most amazing, and most heart wrenching years of our lives. Aging shouldn't have to be this difficult or should it? I have felt my other hip give me pain, as well as a knee. My husband who has an auto immune disease would not be able to get any orthopedic replacements. So, we cope with pain the best we can. Pain and happiness after all travels together, did not C.S. Lewis say that?

The "Untold Story' of missing teacher with rare form of amnesia or 'Jason Bourne Syndrome"

The ‘Untold Story’ of missing teacher with rare form of amnesia or ‘Jason Bourne Syndrome’ revealed in new doc

A woman whose best friend went missing in 2017 is hoping a new documentary will finally help solve the curious case of the beloved schoolteacher.
Hannah Upp, a schoolteacher who went missing on St. Thomas, in the Virgin Islands, in 2017, is the subject of a new special hosted by Elizabeth Vargas, who is behind the new A&E Networks docuseries “The Untold Story,” about events that have a profound impact on our country.
REAL MINDHUNTER TELLS ALL
The episode “Vanished in Paradise: The Untold Story,” set to premiere May 16 at 9 p.m., explores the mysterious disappearance of Upp, a 32-year-old woman from Oregon, who vanished in the chaotic days between two Category 5 hurricanes, Irma and Maria. It features interviews with Upp’s mother, friends and law enforcement, who are still actively searching for her.

Upp's friend Maggie, also a schoolteacher who has asked that her last name not be used over privacy concerns, said she quickly bonded with Upp after they met in St. Thomas in 2015. Upp was a teaching assistant for preschoolers at a Montessori school.
“We did Zumba together,” Maggie recalled. “We worked together. We cooked meals together, went to concerts together, did trips together. We were very close. [And] I think for the most part she loved living in St. Thomas. There are a lot of good things about living there. She loved her job at the school. It was something she was really passionate about [concerning] her life on the island. She also loved going on boat trips, swimming, snorkeling — just being on the ocean. She just loved living on the island.”
However, Maggie insisted Upp wasn’t acting like her usual self when they reunited after the summer of 2017.

“She told me that the fall was a very hard time for her,” Maggie reflected. “She told me she struggled in the fall but didn’t explain the extent of it. I later felt a little guilty that I didn’t know why about one of my best friends. That I hadn’t gotten that far to get that information out of her.”
When Hurricane Irma hit St. Thomas on Sept. 6, Upp had embarked on her fourth year of teaching. Hurricane Maria, another Category 5 storm, was forecast to hit the island the following week. In a story about the case, The New Yorker reported Upp was helping the school prepare for the storm and one morning she got in her car and told her roommates she was heading there. But she never showed up at the school and vanished.
The outlet shared that after three days, her friends had to call off the search to prepare for Hurricane Maria. When the storm subsided, an EMT who had set up a makeshift emergency medical services station on the island organized another search. Despite canvassing the airport, homeless shelters, beaches, hospitals, the morgue and even after interviewing captains who came in and out of the island’s marina, Upp was nowhere to be found.
“I was just thinking about all the things we could do to find her,” Maggie explained. “I was just so worried about her… I initially thought she was just with another friend… I tried to get in touch with anyone who might know anything.”
Elizabeth Vargas interviewed Hannah Upp's mother.

FORMER CHILD BRIDE TELLS ALL
However, Maggie was in for a big surprise. She had no idea Upp had been previously diagnosed with dissociative fugue, which is described as a rare condition in which patients "lose access to their autobiographical memory and personal identity." According to The New Yorker, those with the dissociative fugue occasionally adopt a new identity or suddenly embark on a long journey. The state is typically triggered by trauma, a natural disaster or “by an unbearable internal conflict.”
The condition is also nicknamed “Jason Bourne Syndrome” after the fictional character from the “Bourne Identity” franchise.
Eleven years prior, in 2008, Upp, then a 23-year-old Spanish teacher, left her New York City apartment to go jogging and vanished. About three weeks later, The New York Times reported, a Staten Island Ferry captain spotted her floating face-down in the waters of New York Harbor. It was then, after being pulled to safety, that Upp was diagnosed with the extremely rare form of amnesia.

The newspaper revealed Upp left New York in 2010 and worked at a Quaker study and retreat outside of Philadelphia. She then became a teaching assistant in Montessori schools, including one in Maryland. Then in September 2013, Upp experienced another episode and disappeared for two days. She then moved to St. Thomas the following year for a new teaching job.
GOLDEN STATE KILLER INVESTIGATOR SPEAKS OUT
Maggie admitted she didn’t know what to make of the diagnosis.
“I wanted to learn more about it, but mostly for the purpose of trying to figure out what might have happened to her,” she explained. “Curiosity wasn’t really an option at that point. When somebody you love is distressed, you’re determined to do anything to find out what happened to them. That’s where my mind was.”
Upp’s mother and brother have since written a lengthy statement on Facebook about supporting the A&E special.
“We want you all to know that we struggled with the decision of whether or not to support and contribute to this documentary at all,” they wrote. “Eventually, there were two key factors that led us to make the choice to do so. One, a program was probably going to be made whether we contributed or not, and we desired to do what we could to ensure that the information presented in the program was factually correct to the best of our knowledge.”
SURVIVOR OF LARRY NASSAR'S SEXUAL ABUSE SPEAK OUT
“Two, if Hannah is still out there somewhere, we never know what unexpected connection may lead us to a clue to locating her again,” they continued. “All it would take is for one person to see the program and recognize her. True, there may be some erroneous reports as well, but we feel that it is worth the trouble to sift through them if it gives us a chance to locate Hannah…. The circle of friends and family who miss her is still wide and strong, and each link matters. We take hope from the connections that continue and all who join us in reaching out to find Hannah.”
Maggie also shared that she hoped the documentary will shed new light on Upp, as well as encourage viewers to submit any information that could finally lead to an answer.
“I want people to understand the person that is Hannah,” she said. “She’s just such an inspirational person. She has impacted so many people in her life.”
