Mental Health Week is Coming May 4–10

Our 64th Annual Mental Health Week will focus on the mental health of men and boys, while encouraging people from all walks of life to reflect and take action on issues related to mental health and mental illness. Mental Health Week is scheduled for May 4–10, with fundraising activities and local events taking place nation-wide. Learn how you can get involved with Mental Health Week online.

CMHA BC Achieves Imagine Canada Accreditation

CMHA BC is proud to announce that it has been officially accredited under Imagine Canada's national Standards Program. In order to achieve this designation, CMHA BC's policies and procedures in five key areas were assessed and evaluated by a group of peers in the charitable sector. CMHA Amalgamation to Enhance Services in Greater Vancouver

As of April 1, CMHA Delta Branch, Simon Fraser Branch and Vancouver-Burnaby Branch have formally amalgamated, and will now operate as CMHA Vancouver-Fraser. The amalgamation will allow CMHA to increase their presence and influence in the community, and to better deliver services across the Lower Mainland. These services will include housing and homeless outreach, community-based recovery programming, psychosocial education and stigma reduction workshops. Learn more about the amalgamation online.

Janice Lee Blue Wave Bursary Now Open for Applications

CMHA BC’s youth mental health program, Blue Wave, is accepting applications for its annual bursary program. The Janice Lee Blue Wave Bursary is named in honour of Janice Lee, an 18-year-old who struggled with depression and anxiety and who passed away in 2006. It is available for youth under 19 who are living in BC, and have lived experience of a mental health or substance use problem. Learn more about the bursary online.
