Stayed in Room-Purchased a Broom

Notes from the family of Deborah Gordon,
Written shortly after August 18, 2014
Completed dual Dogwood Diploma just a year ago. Deborah was set to embrace her life. As her dark place increased to hide her pain, she was admitted to Surrey Memorial on a December 2013 close to Christmas day. Drug induced psychosis, we think, what can that be? Known as a Pentecostal bible whiz on the psyche ward, soon released. Life would be normal, after all she was still a teen. What a wonder, what a delight to see her hallucinations disappear. Sisters, parents all embrace, but a cold shell comes in to play. Her clean life since Christmas was exemplary- no drugs, or booze or poor choices. Her goal clear – Marry Jesus that’s my dream. Studied bible, stayed in room, highlighted verses, purchased a broom. Baptized in Ocean “tastes salty” she said, she’s moving- but where? Boots bagged, dishes blue. How will she survive? Only trust God, she knew.
Memory binders, pictures prepared, music wiped, and chosen, parents beware! If only we knew her destination was heaven, so sudden, so cruel. No guile in her, no fear, no , no, no!
But now our hearts bleed, where is our Deborah? So sweet, All Pain. Lord help us to say Blessed be the Lord when he gives and He takes. Our hearts forever love you Jesus’ precious teen, we release you to Jesus, His wonderful queen. Shooting stars and galaxies that is your home.

Miracles
Body found the next day, and identified immediately, also fishing vessels out that day.
Body able to be viewed, by people needing closure.
Provision of the Most High for strength and continuity in our daily battles.

Survived by parents Ron and Maria Gordon, sisters Elizabeth, Erica and Sarah Gordon

Above is a little poem/exerpt I tried to write. As Deborah's first anniversary of death is approaching, we are asking ourselves what to do. Some of the girls took time off work, that day. I am trying to tackle it from the point that I will be seeing her very soon. Every day I am with Deborah. As the dog Brindle is mourning her on her carpet, even a year into it, we too can't forget, her voice, her smile, her ravishing stunning beauty. We wonder what she is doing in Heaven, and long to join her there. Come Lord Jesus, Come.
