My Dear Girl

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling
Just had your picture come up on facebook. I can't believe it has been over 3 years since you left us in the flesh. We continue to miss you, days we don't talk about you in fear of causing pain to others. We are numb to even feel joy at times without you. All the day to day events you should be here for, but you are not. You will always be remembered as a sweet vibrant young woman. You were the cherry on the ice cream. You were the definition of enthusiasm, and grace and joy. As the long winter nights have prematurely arrived, I wonder how we will deal with the sorrow of suicide loss in our homes, communities and our nations. It seems unreal that this pain is continuing often in silence. Do we continue to suffer in silence? Yes, I am grateful that Riverview hospital will be opening in Coquitlam for those with addictions and mental illness. Yes there are small strides being made, but how do we carry on without you; a very real and part of our hearts.
