Just a Precaution!

I just got back from my doctor. What I did was I lined up at 7:30 am in the morning till 8 am. When the door opened, I put our name down for an 11 o'clock drop in appointment with our family physician. Normally, it would take three weeks in advance to book an appointment so this is the way to do it.. My husband was running out of his pain killers, and I too had a minor follow up. Just a caution for those of us going through menopause/ andropause, make sure you ask the pharmacist, wether a drug is to be taken orally or as a suppository and also ask which crevice.!! Ha, Ha, sometimes the pharmacist does not tell you..
Prior to our 11 o'clock visit, we stopped by the cemetery. I took some tall Iris and tall roses from my garden. I encouraged a lady there, who lost her husband of 41 years.. Anna, from Poland. I told her we would not have to wait long before we would see our loved ones again. She was a Catholic lady, told her that it isn't about a denomination, it is all about a relationship one has with their Creator. She acknowledged this, and I asked her if she knew she was saved, since even the POPE isn't sure.. No Catholic can say that their names are written down in the Lambs' book of life.. This is how I witness you see, not door to door, but certainly not only a silent witness.
I'm quiet taken back by all the 'stuff' on social media, to witness, and save the lost.. Well, I am now 56 yrs old, raised my family, went through multitudes of hardships, from a divorce early in my young adult life, to a child who took her life. I feel that the Word of God has gone out on TV, Radio, Internet, Missionaries, and books, as well as personal testimonies.. There hasn't been a more technology savy generation as this one. The four steps to salvation is out there for whoever, hungers and thirsts after righteousness. I don't go door to door, like the Jehovah's Witnesses or Mormons. I wish the young generations of believers in Christ would, but sadly, I think an entire generation has been lost, due to lack of discipleship. Maybe there is much more... to this story. perhaps it is just that 'love has gone cold' in this last generation. I think as baby boomers, those who have walked the faith, we have sent out enough missionaries.. Now it is time for the young ones to carry the banner of Truth. I'm certainly not going door to door. I think if anyone else in their 50's and 60's and 70's wish to do so, please go, but I'm done.. I'm tired.... I'm ready for a peaceable quiet life now.. Not to say, that I will not display hospitality, or talk with the people who come to my door at great lenght to win them over to Christ, but I'm DONE.
Even gardening has become a chore. I rely on more help each year.. and since the weather has gotten so dry... already in May we are having above 20 degree C climate; then watering becomes essential. I bought more top soil, and compost today for the hopefully sweet potato slips. I also bought a bunch of Millet found in the organic section of the grocery store.. It was 60 cents for 100mg, so not cheap at all, but very versatile, and delicious, and nutritious . See my earlier post on preparation of this simple dish. The only ones who don't have errands are our pets, who love to lounge on our beds and the comfort of sheep wool carpets. NO responsibility, how nice..
My highlight of the week will be to see my newlyweds arrive back from Cancun Mexico. I already got a photo or two, and the hotel looked almost vacant..I asked my daughter if they were the only ones there, and she sent another photo confirming that there were others there as well. One of my Mexican students suggested that it is like Paradise there, but she still lives 2 hours flight from Cancun, so impossible to connect with my daughter and her husband. I suggested she comes back with them in their suitcase.  Apparently, Mexico has the lowest rate of suicide.. They must be doing something right.
