The Kelty Patric Foundation
Kerry
and Ginny Dennehy seen presenting a $40,000 cheque to Ian Ross,
Executive Director of the Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention
Centre of BC.
This donation provides secure funding for the Stigma Awareness & Suicide Prevention Program: "Reducing Stigma, Building Resiliency and Saving Lives." With this funding, 400 interactive, "youth friendly workshops" will take place this year in high schools aimed at reducing stigma associated with suicide and mental health. 10,000 secondary school students will be reached.
Stigma spreads fear and misinformation, perpetuates stereotypes and prevents many young people from accessing the early intervention that is critical.
Over the past 10years, the Kelty Patrick Dennehy Foundation has provided the Crisis Centre with critical funding enabling them to confidentially engage with youth at no cost, 24hours a day, 7 days a week.
