Burrard Street Bridge Corridor Project update

As you know I have been watching the developments on the Burrard Street Bridge. They do have a suicide prevention fence on it. I have not personally seen it, but many from the esthetic point of view did not want to see the fence go up. Here is the latest on the upgrades.

Hello!

We thank you for your patience and understanding as we finalize work for the  Burrard Street Corridor Project

Construction: What to Expect in March

Access to residences and businesses will be maintained at all times during construction.

Pacific Street: Hornby to Howe Street
Some of the finishing touches along Pacific Street to improve street lighting and conditions for people walking and cycling have been delayed due to additional third party utility works. We apologize for this inconvenience and will complete this section in early 2018, once the electrical system upgrades are wrapped up.

Trees along Pacific and Burrard Street will be planted in spring.

Burrard Bridge: Night-Time Work

Crews will be working at night to install expansion joint covers along Burrard Bridge. These cover plates will improve the experience for people cycling across the bridge by creating a smoother surface.

By working at night, we can ensure that impacts are minimized for people driving.

When: March 11 to April 27, 2018*
Time: 8 pm to 7 am

*Work will typically take place from Sunday to Thursday nights

Red Bridge Lights to Mark Winter Olympics

The restored pedestrian lights on the bridge continue to glow red during the 2018 Paralympic Games as part of the City's efforts to support and celebrate our Canadian athletes.
