My Student Left
This morning my student from Japan has left. Her most memorable time with me was to make Gulyas soup together. She made me an origami card, so lovely. Today, I made applesauce from our small apples. I have enough for the entire year, and some. I substitute applesauce for the oil/lard required in cakes etc. We had enough left over apples to dehydrate some, to have as healthy snacks. I could not have done it without my husband who helped me blend the apples into puree. Deborah's sister, who got married a year ago, has now celebrated yet another birthday without her sister. She is a very sweet lady, on her way to becoming a nurse very soon. Her and her husband have known each other since grade 8, now over 15 years ago, when Deborah was just a little girl. Being new to their school that year, my now son-in-law took upon himself to protect and guard the Gordon Girls; all four of them. What a privilege to see them all grown in to adults. Here they are just recently on a photo.
