THE "LATTER RAIN OUTPOURING" IS THE BIBLICAL "GREAT AWAKENING" FOR THIS GENERATION!
Scripture shows cycles of spiritual decline followed by revival (e.g., under kings like Hezekiah or Josiah, or the early church in Acts). Historical Great Awakenings (18th-19th centuries) echoed this: emphasis on personal conversion, holiness, and societal impact. Modern claims of a "current" or "next" Great Awakening fit this pattern—renewed interest in faith among younger people, charismatic experiences, and moral reform—but interpreters differ on its scale or prophetic weight.
Prophetically, the Bible points to future intensifications of this, especially in the "last days":
Joel 2:28-32 ("I will pour out my Spirit on all people...") is the most cited. Peter applied it to Pentecost (Acts 2), marking the start of the Church Age.
Many see it as having ongoing or escalated fulfillment in later revivals (including Pentecostal/Latter Rain movements). Some charismatic and prophetic circles link modern "awakenings" to a "latter rain" (Joel 2:23; James 5:7)—a final, powerful outpouring of the Holy Spirit before Christ's return, producing signs, wonders, and massive conversions. This ties into ideas of "Joel's Army" (a militant, empowered end-times church), though interpretations vary widely and some are controversial.
A GREAT END-TIMES HARVEST: Revelation 7 describes a "great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language" standing before the throne—many see this as a massive soul harvest during the Tribulation period, amid judgment and persecution. This aligns with the idea of revival not in peaceful times but in crisis.
My guess is that the GREAT LATTER RAIN OUTPOURING will occur towards the end of the 3RD WATCH (which we're presently right in the middle of) and the beginning of the 4TH WATCH (which begins in early 2028).
