Although Israel goes by the Hillel II calendar, which says the new month of Iyyar began on April 15th ... another way of reconning is by two confirmed eyewitness sightings of the new moon (crescent) in Israel, which occurred as of April 17, 2018. So, Iyyar 5, Israel's 70th Independence Day is three days away according to the Hillel II (Jewish) calendar and that's when Israel will celebrate it.
