suffers from Jason Bourne-style amnesia disorder issues plea for help
after she vanished in aftermath of a 2017 hurricane, leaving nothing but

Upp suffers from a rare condition known as 'dissociative fugue' that
causes her to temporarily forget her identity embark on long journeys
- The
disorder is informally known as 'Jason Bourne' syndrome after its most
famous (and factious) sufferer and can last days, weeks or even years
- Upp moved to St. Thomas to restart her life as a Montessori teacher
- She went missing after Hurricane Irma in 2017 and hasn't been seen since; her family holds out hope that she will be found
- In
2008, Upp disappeared for 20 days and was close to death when she was
recovered by a ferryman floating in the middle of New York Harbor
- Another incident happened in 2012 when she vanished for two days and 'came-to' while sitting in a residential creek in Maryland
- Hannah Upp's story is the subject of an A&E series titled 'Vanished in Paradise'
