My first born had the intervenous to speed up her delivery in 1988. This drug is brutal, and I must caution all mothers to be not to have their doctors/nurses give it to them. The contractions will be monumentally sharp and few women can tolerate it. Better to let nature do it!!!! Take your time with the labour, your body knows what to do.
