What is happening

It has been a while since I wrote. I sure miss writing. Our street has been full of chaos, as Telus is putting in fiberoptic underground lines on our street. For two days now even inside my house I needed earplugs to make it through the day. Meanwhile, this morning we did step out to visit our passport office. My passport had to be totally re-applied for, with a guarantor, new photos. It took a fair bit of effort to get all the signatures in place. I was told by the immigration officer that Kelowna will be the criminal center of British Columbia. The lady felt empathetic for the people who are first responders in our cities and communities. It is amazing what one can find out upon being approachable, and sometimes inquisitive.
Yesterday, my tenant made some curried food. Noting against curry as I enjoy eating it periodically, but the odor hit my 2nd floor abode. We had to open all our windows and some in order to breathe. I was promised the windows, and doors will be open with the fan on, the next time.
I forget now, if I posted a picture of the eviction that took place on my street. The sheriff ordered the family to leave, after months of not paying rent. Well, so far, it has cost the homeowner 10,000 dollars of loss, and costs accumulated in removing mountains of debree in blue bin containers measuring over 20 feet and 10 feet in height. So far, there has been three of these huge bins filled. The very sad thing is that the family who was evicted has not found housing. They were either picky and did not want to live with family, or they were stupid and moved in for a short day with a friend who also is a renter. In less than a day, they were told to leave, so where are they now???? They are across the street! The father, grandma, and grand-daughter, and a clingy woman, all moved into a Mexican owned house, who have 5 adult children. So the landlord who evicted them will be seeing these unbelievable people smack across his street. I just pray he does not order their extermination. This is a lesson for all of us who rent for a little extra income. Beware of who you rent to. Ohh, and a mini car has also been pushed across the street, which has no insurance that belonged to the former tenants. It will be soon towed by by-laws. Unfortunately, as I hear, B.C. Subsidized housing has very few vacancies, and the dire need for affordable rental units, could no be more evident.
