We went to Cosco today, primarily to return some giant water jugs, only to find that they no longer carry it. Upon speaking with the manager, they accepted each water bottle back for $10/each. Then we proceeded to the flower section. It appeared that everyone was grabbing bouguet's of roses/carnations. I bought one for my daughter who as of yet has not found a boyfriend. She is very picky. She is the one closes to Deborah's age, and very grown up for her 25 yrs of age. We also bought a bouquet for Deborah, only to find that her vase at the cemetery is still not holding water. We also bought a huge bag of birdseeds. We spread it far and wide at Valley View Cemetary, and now my birds at home will also benefit since snow is expected this afternoon.
One interesting thing is that Valentines day is just around the corner. A man at the grocery store with a white pot of roses, was lined up behind me at the till. I commented on how appreciative his beloved will be. To my surprise he opened up, and said, he wishes he never got married. In typical fashion, I tried to turn it around for the positive, and said that he will have someone close by him for his old age, and he responded by saying he did not regret having children.
So here we go, almost by force people give each other gifts for Valentine's day, and not really feeling the love. When I bumped into him in the parking lot, I reassured him that if his wife would turn to Jesus, she would be a new person!!! I sure hope we can all come to a place to truly and deeply love one another. After all, Jesus said that we will be recognized as his disciples if we have love for one another. Love one another
…33Little
children, I am with you only a little while longer. You will look for
Me, and as I said to the Jews, so now I say to you: ‘Where I am going,
you cannot come.’ 34A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so also you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.”…John 13;34
