We Always had Enough
As I sit here and watch old video's, it is hardly comprehensible all that transpired in my years of raising my children. I watch birthday, party after birthday party. Graduations from kindergarten to highschool. I watch road trips, and trips to music workshops. I see our old home where our old piano was I see friends of my daughters who grew up with them. Friends from private schools, homeschools, and public schools. I see teachers, mentors, speech therapists, and church leaders, and Sunday school and Vacation bible school events. I see dim lights, and blaring lights on stages of music, choirs and orchestras. I see pool parties, and farm parties. I see so much joy. How did we have the energy? Only God. That is the answer. No other source of strength that is for sure. I see God's provision in the clothing, the food, the transportation, and the much needed friendships in each of our lives. How did the children do it? How did we manage without aunts, uncles, and grand-parents around us? How did we finance the music lessons? Of course I bartered for services a lot, but humanly these things were much out of our league. With my husband on disability pension, and a small one at that, God still blessed us. He was our Provider, Jehovah Jirah. Our lives never entailed want. We had everything we ever needed. We never had to say, I can't afford school supplies, or clothing for the children, or make due without a bicycle for a child. We always had enough gasoline for our cars. Used vehicles, gently used clothing/toys were often our possessions. We never lacked any good thing. What an awesome God we serve!
