I am so honored to have had close to 30 thousand views last month of my blog. It is a blog like me, imperfect, missing things, sometimes off topic, sporratic, but it is a reflection of where my mind and heart is. I have just realized that I will likely not attend the barbeque at Valley View funeral home, on the 18th of August, the day Deborah took her life. I didn't pay attention to the date. It is a date I hope to forget, and wished it never happened. Having just come through a leaking water pipe in my yard, and the front lawn in upheaval with clay, and muck, I feel exhausted. I shared with my neighbour who was inquisitive that I almost had a divorce by the time we closed up the ground, he said; I saw the tension... I'm only paraphrasing for sensitive ears.. My husband detests home projects like this. So we survived it by the grace of God. The cost was manageable, and with my Japanese students, we will somehow float again.
My next undertaking is to have the wooden fence re-stained. I did the outdoor back staircase, the one I last did with Deborah. We have a huge pail of stain that someone dropped off at some point. It sure looks nice once again. The winter snow and salt has caused a fading and dryness that had to be dealt with. The fence hasn't been stained for over 6 years, it is as dry as bones. The hot temperatures, and smoke in the air, from the wildfires, now coming over from the USA is not helping. Do I like these projects? No, not really. What do we do though till Jesus arrives? Work to the best of our ability. Ohh and I even got an extra 100 dollars for referring Japanese students to a family. What a gift!
When I deposited the money today along with our mortgage monies, the line up was intense at the credit union. I waited almost 45 minutes. I choose not to use the bank machine, in-case they had no record of my deposit. Well, even the exorbitant line up, led me to witness to several people about Jesus' return. One man kept insisting that I look into his eyes, and speak in the spirit. Well, I told him I'm still in the flesh, so no ghost will be speaking to him. He was a little bit Buddha, and christian, and maybe Budhai I'm thinking.. Very bizarre that is for sure. I asked another man who happened to be black if he knows Sam Owusu, my pastor from Ghana. He said that he has seen him on television. I asked if I will see him at church this Sunday. One man told me he has one of the largest lots in Surrey, of 3/4 acres. I told him that I have a bigger lot in Heaven.. just any comment to bring the mind in subjection to the eternal, rather than the temporal. Like the Apostle Paul said he was all things to all people, just so that he may win some over to Christ. So the 45 minute line up, somehow passed after all. We are good for yet another month. We have to take one day at a time, now more than ever.
