A call of a possible armed robbery resulted in a minor disturbance downtown when police observed the reported suspect running from the scene.
Shortly before noon on Saturday, May 28, 2016, Mission RCMP received a call reporting that a man had walked into a business on 1st Ave wearing a mask and carrying what was possibly a toy gun. Police quickly responded to the scene and observed a man matching the suspect description running across the street. Police gave chase and arrested the man a short distance away. It was soon determined that no offence had occurred. The man, who was exhibiting erratic behaviour, was subsequently apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to hospital.
