Deborah's friends

I went to the graveside this morning, around 8 am. It was empty, except those who died, and the few birds adorning the trees. The vast blue sky was comforting. I kneeled to cut the grass around the marker. I took out as many clovers and dandelion weeds as I could. I put daisies in fresh water that I retrieved from my garden. I filled the vase with water on the adjoining grave incase the birds needed water. Still no sign of the bronze vase thief. No report of him/her getting caught. So, Deborah's vase is still in my kitchen, until it is safe to put back.

Deborah has had no visitors for some time. Life goes on. I wonder how her friends have changed, and the lives they are leading. They are now women of 22 yrs. Three years does change people. They must be more mature, smarter now. Soon, all will be married and have children of their own, travelling the world
