I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving, if you are North of the 49th parallel. We were 11 people in total, and had a very blessed time, with great food. As always we bought a turkey from an organic farm. I made my own stuffing, 2 varieties, one with Mennonite sausage and one vegetarian. I also made my home made cranberry sauce which is usually a big hit. We had two varieties of potatoes one with roasted garlic paste, and one without. Today I am making soup with the carcass of the turkey leftovers. Meanwhile I broke my foot about 2 days prior to Thanksgiving as I tried to make a step off my bed, while my foot was still partially asleep. It is the 5th metatarsal a small bone connected to my ankle and small toe. The recovery time will be 6-8 weeks, just in time for my hip surgery. I had heard the crack when it happened, but I choose not to go to get it x-rayed until after the holiday, which we all looked forward to celebrating. Also I did not want to disappoint the guests whom we invited, especially Arne Bryan the 98 yr old man who baptized Deborah at Crescent Beach 2 days prior to her taking her life. Arne Bryan (founder of Prayer Canada) has his own book out as well. I was just reading it in the doctors office today. I highly recommend it. A life lived to the fullest and still going strong. He just had his drivers license renewed for 5 more years, and his passport for 10 more years. He is content with his life, and carries on being a commando. He brought me a lovely orchid, and of course drove himself to our home.

You can imagine how hard that is for me. I can use crutches but my other leg is not strong as hip surgery is pending on that one, so instead of risking a fall with these crutches, I simply have to walk on my heels of my broken foot. Life is never boring for sure.
