Gordon I am so sorry for your loss and can relate to the point of
someone in my family attempting suicide, partially due to mental health
problems. Shas has passed now and is in heaven.

+HumbleHeartMinistry I'm sorry but you are not interpereting scripture correctly. Heb 10:26 "For if we sin wilfully after that we have recieved the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins."
The 'wilfull sin' that's being talked about here is the rejection of the truth, not suicide. If you hear the gospel (knowledge of the truth) and reject it, then there remains 'no more sacrifice for sins' (note here: SINS not sin). This verse has nothing to do with a believers's sin, but with an nonbeliever's sin; as the wilfull sin is in the singular, conotating a specific sin. As also the scrafice for sins is in the plural (more than one sin). A nonbeliever will never be forgiven of there sins because they reject the blood of Jesus as payment. Hearing the gospel and rejecting it will always result in condemnation to the hearer. This is what's being talked about. I don't know why you think it's talking about suicide but it's not. it's referring to those who 'count the blood of the covenant an unholy thing and do despite unto the Spirit of grace.' This is the condition of the UNsaved, not the saved. Those who were never born again. Those who refuse to believe the truth of the gospel of Jesua Christ.
The verse right after "But a certain fearful looking for of judgement and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." Heb 10:27 The adversaries are THE UNSAVED! And Heb 10:28 "He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses." Again, talking about those who despised the law; THE UNSAVED! There is no room for doubt here; your either saved or your not. There's nobsuch thing as 'losing' your salvation for at that moment you are sealed by the Holy Spirit and there is nothing you can do to unseal yourself. Salvation is PERMANENT. However, you may lose rewards at the judgement seat, but that has nothing to do with salvation because salvation is of God and not you. Only the saved are at the judgement seat; the lost go to the great white throne judgement to be judged before they're cast into the lake of fire. Jesus says "All that the father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out." John 6:37 And in John 6:39"And this is this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day". Clearly, Jesus is adamant that ALL who recieve him shall NEVER PERISH.
