One, when you hire, endorse, or nominate someone - their performance is not a reflection of the action for opportunity. 

Their performance is whether or not they can handle the position and what’s asked of them versus an overseer always having to do their job or correct their actions. 

Two, firing one that you hired, endorsed, or nominated is also not a reflection on the superior. 

Three, having the skill set to recognize the hire, endorsee, nominee is not meeting expectations and requirements. 

Four, having the integrity and humility to relieve them of their duty or fire them, despite who they are to the superior.

As President Trump has said over and over again…

The Swamp would hire but never fire.

They simply recycled someone to another level, department or agency.
