True Story (worth repeating):
One day I was at a restaurant when I saw a member of their staff sitting at a table waiting for his shift to begin. While he was sitting there I presented him with a gospel track and I moved on. When I finished eating and made my way to the exit, the same young man approached me and began to tell me about a situation he was dealing with.
He told me he had received an eviction notice that would be effective within 30 days or so. He was obviously stressed out about it and he was looking for some kind of help or advice.
So I said to him, "What are you worried about? You don't have a problem until 30 days from now." I ALSO REMINDED HIM OF HOW QUICKLY THINGS CAN CHANGE IN JUST 24 HOURS. While I was talking to him he became visibly relaxed. I saw his thinking and his perspective change right before my eyes.
Then I said, "Blessed is he who will not worry about a thing until it is time to worry about it."
Of course his situation demanded some attention, but the following question is still worth asking, "At what point do you actually have a problem?"
"Blessed is he who will not worry about a thing until it is time to worry about it." I came across this quirky quote years ago, and I can't tell you how many times these words have kept me from worrying about something that never even materialized!
