Attending the Memorial - All Welcome

Today, we had our first snowfall in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Everything is beautiful and white. No wonder, I put a stop to my neighbor trying to paint 'my fence'. It is a long story, but this is not the time to be painting things outdoors.

With heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Robert Uitwaaien DeVelden of Deep Cove, British Columbia. An adventurous, caring, loving and spontaneous man. Rob had a heart of gold. He gathered friends everywhere he went, sharing his contagious smile with everyone. Rob loved playing music, travelling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends. He will be missed immensely. We will be honouring Rob by having a come and go open house this Friday. Please drop in anytime Friday, November 3 from 2-5pm at Fleetwood Christian Reformed Church, 9165 160th St, Surrey B.C.

Rob had friends all over the globe. Some of those we have not yet met. Please share this post with them.
Today, is also a day where I will be attending a remembrance memorial for the young man who took his life at age 28. He was the best friend of my daughters boyfriend. It was a tragic death, and I just want to be there for the family, even if we haven't met. We are loosing our youth to suicide!! I can only relate to their sorrow. I can look the mom in the eyes, and tell her that I have been through it, and my presence will say, that I am a survivor and she also can, by the grace of God do it. This Dutch community of believers is a precious one in our neighborhood. They built schools and retirement homes, and care homes. This Dutch family needs the tender support of the community back. We don't know why Robby left us. My nurse daughter said, mom don't look at his picture, as my tears flowed readily from my face. How can I not? How can I not watch the potential of human life that we all just lost? His Beautiful face, who is now in the presence of the Almighty. I'm sure I'll be seeing my oldest daughter at the memorial. This will be the first time in years she will see her classmates from Fraser Valley Christian High.
