Shopped till I dropped

Today, we went to get our organic free range Turkey at J.D. Turkey Farms. I was looking for the slightly cheaper utility grade bird with a wing/or skin missing. They did not have any except in the freezer section. I asked the lady in the store if I can speak to the manager and she immediately said that if customers insist that they get a fresh utility bird, then they can give the fresh turkey for the utility price. So, to make a long story short, I saved about 8 dollars on a big bird. We will have our celebration on Monday, if the Lord tarries. Ofcourse, while there, we could not resisit the Mennonite sausages, the frozen sausage rolls, turkey pepperoni sticks, and many other treats. We are set for a while.
Then, my husband wanted to stop at the 'Great Canadian Outdoor Store' in Langley. There are stores also in Kelowna, and Victoria, but sadly are closing. I feel badly for the staff who work there. Getting laid off before Christmas is really sad, along with the Sears employees who will be laid off. We found some high quality clothing there. My husband got a waterproof titanium jacket for his  job. I don't want him to get wet and cold. Then of course, we found presents for the children. They even had infant clothing there. Many fishing, shooting, crabbing, hiking, survival gear. You know from my previous posts that I am all for being equipped when it is no longer possible to buy things the conventional way. It is not even so much the gear, but the knowledge to know what to do with your equipment. So, the discounts should even increase in time, but you may not get your size. I hope it benefits your family to know about this.
