Well, you haven't heard for a while from me. I went to church with my husband, married daughter and her spouse. The message was on the cost of discipleship. Great sermon, great songs of worship. The church we attend will have it's 25th anniversary next month, so dinner tickets are sold for the occasion. My daughter also came to church to thank the Lord for enabling them to purchase a home in this wretched housing market. They are ecstatic to have bought an older home in a neighborhood that they love. in the suburb with bigger lots close to shops and a recreational facility. It will be less than half hour drive to work for both my son-in-law and daughter. I saw the home 2 times and I like it very much. The lot has an older home with arches, and one half side full of mature cedar trees, almost like a forest. The home has 3 bedrooms and a large deck facing north. Today, I hear them boxing away their belongings. Possession day is early November. My husband gave them an exacto knife to cut holes in the boxes. They have to learn so much about the moving process. They did not want to buy a condo or a town-home so after much deliberation they offered more money, closer to the sellers wishes. This leaves us with an empty 2 bedroom suite. The big question is should we move now, downstairs so we have no stairs to climb or should be wait to move downstairs later, and rent out the 2 bedroom suite? Should I rent out the upstairs room by room or ??
I will sure miss these young ones! it has been a blessing to have my adult married daughter live underneath us. But as they said in the sermon today, we cannot have idols, not even our children.. We must hold on to everything and everyone loosely. Though my heart will ache when they leave, it is the natural process. Prayers asking Deborah if this was the place they were to buy have been answered. The songs Oceans came on the radio, even as prayers went up asking about their future decision. I think it is nice that the girls still talk to each other eventhough we are at this moment seperated by a large carvass that is impenetrable.
Yesterday, we spent many hours in emergency as my husband had a hard time breathing. He grew up in a smokers household, and no puffer would alleviate his gagging/chocking symptoms. Finally, after much waiting, blood work and chest x-rays, he was given a requisition to have an echo cardiogram done in the next few days. They are suspecting something with the heart. My garden is being winterized slowly. I'm moving things that may rust, clay pots that may crack among other things out of the yard. There are a few more things growing that we are patiently waiting for, however. Today we spent our free purchase points for groceries also. I made Tiger, the outdoor cat's home warmer with sheepwool. Now, the hunt for good tenants, or sell our home?
