Police said a Michigan teen died over Memorial Day Weekend after jumping to death from an overpass in what was believed to be a suicide.
Troopers found Miles Roberts, 15, lying in the highway around 5 a.m. Sunday in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Michigan Live.
Miles, who was a freshman at Skyline High School, had last been seen by his parents about an hour before he was found.
The official cause of death has not been determined, but officers believe that he died by suicide based off info from his parents.
Skyline Principal Cory McElmeel confirmed the teen’s death in an email sent to students on Monday.
“We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Miles,” McElmeel said, according to Michigan Live. “Please reach out and support each other. Remember that this hard news affects everyone differently. Sometimes it really hits hard even for students, parents, and staff who did not know Miles personally.”
Counselors will be made available for students at the high school, where Miles was an active member of the football and hockey teams.
Friends took to social media to remember the 15-year-old.
“You never realize how important happiness is until it’s gone. Prayers are with the Roberts and the entire Skyline Eagles family,” wrote on friend on Twitter.
