IIO called in to investigate Port Coquitlam death

A man who had allegedly fired shots in the air outside his house was later found dead

Th Independent Investigations Office of B.C. has been called in to investigate the death of a Port Coquitlam man.
On Sunday police were called to the 2100 block of Audrey Drive after reports came in of a distraught man with a gun who had allegedly fired shots in the air.
Coquitlam RCMP, along with the Integrated Lower Mainland emergency response team, attended only to find the man dead, apparently of a self-inflicted gun shot wound.
IIO B.C. has take over the investigation to determine if there is a connection between the actions of police and the injuries sustained by the male.
