Went Shopping Saturday

Today, we went shopping. I got a nice humidifier with a Christmas gift card. The dry air in our home was getting too much to bear. I think my hardwood floors will love me for it as well. I heard that many flu like symptoms also disappear with moisture in the air. After that we spent fifty dollars at Shoppers Drug Mart on canned food, and milk. This enabled us to triple our points that will go towards our next big shopping day. There, we also got a nice sympathy card for the memorial service I will attend.  Then we stopped by Mark's Work warehouse, and purchased jeans on sale for my husband and nice quality socks that were discounted; wool blends.
Along the way, by the bank, I noticed two very thin, black men, as black as coffee beans standing near the sidewalk. I approached them, and asked them where they were from. Apparently, things did not go as they planned: a long story, and they were from South Sudan. You could tell that they were shivering from the cold here. I shared the church information, that may be able to help them. We returned to look for them again, to buy them lunch perhaps, but they were gone. I wonder how many strangers we can be hospitable to in the immediate future. Many migrants, or travelers,  perhaps will awake our sleep spells. I just wish I had told them about Night Shift Ministries in Surrey, as well as the Neighbour House that services new comers with help. The Lord only knows their story, and if we have done a little to make the lives of others better, the more blessed we are.
Oh, I forgot, I also used up the remainder of our Tim Horton's gift card by buying a dozen bagels. I had cream cheese at home, so we splurged. I had no idea they had so many varieties of bagels.. I do believe that Starbucks is boycotted because of their stand against Trump or ??. The line up at Timmies was Huge, both in the parking lot, as well as in the store.
Then this afternoon, I went to get some 40 percent discounted bras etc. with my 25 dollar gift card if you spend more than 75 dollars. All over the place, stores want your business. This is an indication of the scarcity of cash I believe. My recent post on Venezuela's skyrocketing inflation is an indicator of what is coming on the world. I do try not to go out for this very reason. Once you are out, then money seems to sprout wings and it flies..
