Human
governments can make all the laws they want. But the supreme law of the
universe is God's Word, and God's Word alone, and that law is
unchanging and immutable.
We are all here on this earth for a
short while. God created us with a free choice. That means that we each
get to make our own decisions and carve out our own path while we're
here on this earth.
But we don't get to choose the consequences of those choices.
God places before us Life and Death. We can choose to remain in our sin
nature or turn to Jesus and be cleansed from all of our sin and receive
His gift of rebirth.
In the life hereafter, all those who have
ever lived will stand before one Judge and King, Jesus Christ. And what
will matter then is how you acted upon only one question: What did you
do with Me? Did you repent and take hold of Me and allow Me to save you?
Or did you deny that you are a sinner at all and insist that you have
no need of a Savior like Me, that you are just fine as you are?
This is of critical importance because what you did with Jesus here will
determine where you will go once this life is over -- whether you go to
hell or to heaven. It will not come down to anyone's "good works or
charity," but only to, what did you do with Jesus, the Son of God?
Jesus stands even now at the door of every man's heart and asks if you
will receive His gift of eternal life. How will you answer His call of
LOVE?
"Come now, let us settle the matter,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.
If you are willing and obedient,
you will eat the good things of the land." ~ Isaiah 1
