At Church on Sunday, we started a new series on the second coming of Christ. "It is ironic that the prophetic parts of Scripture, written to down to
give the Church hope, security, and encouragement, are rarely preached
in modern pulpits. In a day when life on earth is more insecure than
ever, the parts of the Bible that give the most hope are often ignored.
This new series will prepare your mind and encourage your heart as we
take you, event by event, through the final chapters of the human drama
on planet earth."
Day 1: Why Christ Must Return?
1)The prophesies of the scripture (Psalm 96:12-13; John 14:2-3) The same bible that says he shall be born in Bethlehem says the end is near.
2) The Plight of society (Revelation 19:15-16) earthquakes, wars etc. The world is not getting better. Romans 8:19-22) creation is frustrated, groaning as in the pain of childbirth
3)The penalty of sin (John 5:28-29, Revelation 20:10) all of us needs to take account for our sins. Judge the sinners and satan (revelation 20:10)
4) The promises of the saints (Revelation 19:6-9; Phillippians 3:20-21) God made a promise to us. John 14 says believe in god, believe also in me. He says he will come again. The best part he has the ability to fulfill that promise to us.
