At least 160 people were killed in a series of attacks across the French capital, focused on a concert hall where the death toll is believed to be as high as 120 and gunmen held hundreds of hostages. The hostage situation ended after police stormed the building and killed the hostage-takers. The head of Paris police told journalists that three of the attackers were wearing suicide vests, which they detonated during the police assault. A fourth attacker at the concert hall was reportedly shot by police. At least 200 people were injured, 80 seriously, at six locations across Paris in one of the deadliest attacks on a Western city since 9/11. François Molins, the Paris prosecutor, said five attackers had been "neutralized" across the various locations while the AFP, quoting a source close to the investigation, reported a total of eight militants were killed.
