| PSALM 126 was penned around the time of Israel's release from captivity in Babylon. It is the inspiration for the old American spiritual, “Bringing in the Sheaves” and is thought to refer to the festival of Shavuot/Pentecost, the day when the ancient Israelites gave to God what was rightfully His: the firstfruits of the harvest. |
