A missing 11-year-old girl had been put in isolation at school before she vanished nearly 24 hours ago, her distraught family has revealed.
Detectives are desperately searching for Leah Taylor, who was last seen leaving Marvell College in east Hull shortly after noon yesterday.
This morning, it emerged the youngster had been waiting to be picked up by her gran, Lynn Weatherill, after being placed in isolation.
But by the time the 51-year-old arrived at the school, she had already gone.
The circumstances surrounding Leah's isolation remain unclear, while her disappearance has been described as "out of character".
Her gran has issued an emotional plea for her return, vowing: "Even if it kills me, I will look for that little girl", the Hull Daily Mail reports.

  • Fears for two schoolgirls aged 12 and 14 missing from home as mum makes plea for information
An urgent police appeal remains under way after Leah went missing after walking out of Marvell College at 12.10pm yesterday.
The schoolgirl's family have been frantically driving around east Hull with pictures of her in a desperate bid to find her.
Ms Weatherill, who has 19 grandchildren, said: "We just want her to come home.
"Nobody is going to tell her off. Despite what happened at school it's not about that - it's about getting her home to her mum and her family.
"Leah, please just come home, nobody will be mad at you. I am begging her to come and we just want to find her."
According to Ms Weatherill, Leah has never gone missing before. She described the youngster's disappearance as "out of character".
She added that Leah is incredibly close to her 32-year-old mum, who has been left worried sick by her daughter going missing.
"Leah's mum is in a bad state and I've got a bad heart," she said.
"But even if it kills me, I will look for that little girl.
I've been out all night with my dog looking for her. I'm not bothered, I just need to find my grandaughter because it's getting us all down."

Since Leah's disappearance, the family has been posting on social media to get more information on where the youngster might be.
Numerous people have got in touch to tell them about possible sightings.
The schoolgirl's relatives have been driving around Preston Road, Bilton Grange and other parts of east Hull to try and find her.
Miss Weatherill said: "There are people ringing us left, right and centre - we are getting that much help.
"People are ringing saying they think they have seen her and we've been asking workmen who are going out looking for her too.
"We are just asking anyone and everyone that is out there in the east Hull area."
Leah was wearing her school uniform - a black blazer, a white shirt with a black and yellow tie, black trousers and black shoes - when she vanished.
She was also carrying a brown school bag.
Police have appealed for Leah herself or anyone with information on her whereabouts to come forward as a matter of "urgency".
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: "We’re appealing for help in locating missing 11-year-old Leah Taylor who was last seen leaving school in the Holderness Road area of Hull at around 12.10pm on Monday, October 16.
"Leah is described as being white, around 5ft tall of slim build with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing a black blazer, white shirt with a black and yellow tie, black trousers, black shoes and a brown school bag."
Marvell College declined to comment on Leah's disappearance or isolation.
  • Anyone who has seen Leah or knows where she is should call police immediately on 101, quoting log number 620 of October 16

This blog started off talking about suicide, and the personal association my family has with the subject. My 19 year old, my youngest ended her suffering by suicide. Now this blog has become much more.
