Money, Food and Sex

We are ordering dinner for two from the Rickshaw Chinese Restaurant tonight. We had 6 peoples income taxes completed on this day of Purim, in our home. Our dear friend came over from Victoria Island, and did our taxes in our home. What a sweet man, a father, pastor, tour guide, and so much more in his new community on the island.
I learned a long time ago, that money, food and sex are the three things people usually have arguments about, and today the subject was money.. What do we owe Ceasar/the government? Thankfully, we owe nothing, but we also get nothing back, unlike our daughters. Our friend went to print off the copies at Staples, and ended up paying 40 cents per page. Thankfully, it is a write off for him, including the ferry trip, but costs for the most trivial are so grand.
This man, in his early seventies is such a trooper, he puts us to shame in many ways. Not too long ago, he was hauling suitcases on and off, his Shuttle bus that went to Seattle and back to Canada. He dibbled in several jobs back then as well. He was wise to do this, as if we have many sources of cheese, the mice don't starve. Today, as a part-time Anglican pastor, wedding officiate, and cemetery overseer, takes up at least 3 days a week. The rest of the day's when the tour ships come to Victoria, he takes the tourists to Butchart  Gardens and other sight seeing adventures.  However, if we only have a single source of income (cheese) then we may find ourselves lacking. He still has a youthful gait, and I hope he will be able to work for many years yet.
Now, I put up my feet, and put my pyjamas on, and await my prepared dinner. I hope it is delicious. My husband suggested we go out, but home is where the heart is.
